The Cinematography of Kosmic Karl was done by Mark Whipple and Gary Whipple.

The filming was done with two 16mm cameras, the Arriflex E and the Arriflex BLEQ.  The project was started with the Arriflex E but was found to be too noisy.  The BLEQ replaced the E and we were able to capture the remainder of the film using 2 prime lenses, a zoom and a fish eye lense.

Lighting in the Assylum was done to create a sterile, hospital like environment.

The film used was Kodak KODAK VISION 320T 7277 for outdoor and indoor lighting.  This film handled the very darkest environments without a hitch. One such area was in a tunnel with limited lighting, producing a very clear image.
