KOSMIC KARL

FADE IN:

INT. KARL'S BATHROOM--DAY

Low Dolly Shot of apartment--dirty laundry is lying about.

We hear.

KARL

Then it looks like my job is done here.

(different voice)

It looks like my job is done here.

(different voice)

My job is done here.

Although bare foot, KARL is wearing his suit and cape He looks handsome as he finishes the final touches on his hair.

He likes this voice, his hair is perfect, he smiles.

KARL (Cont'd)

Perfect. Definitely looks like my job is done here.

He leaves the bathroom.

2INT. KITCHEN

Karl enters. He opens the fridge: C.U. on a well stocked area of the fridge--slow pan to other side--there is a line of tape running directly down the middle of the fridge--the other side is nearly empty.

From the nearly empty side he takes a carton of milk and drinks a little.

3INT. BED ROOM--DAY

The song "Crazy" begins.

C.U. SHOES, Karl's hands takes the shoes.

Mid C.U. A sock goes on one foot, the other sock is already on. He slides his feet in the shoes and laces them up.

Angle from front--Karl ties a bow.

KARL

My job is done here.

He takes a notebook and writes an address from it onto his palm.

The song fades.

Karl speaks to a lump of blankets in a bed.

KARL

I'm off to save the planet.

From the pile comes a very sleepy voice with a New York accent

RON

Isn't it too early?

KARL

Never too early--I only hope, I'm never too late.

Karl leaves and RON pops his head out of the pile of blankets--his hair is going everywhere.

RON

Hey, you better not be drinking my milk and eating my stuff, 'cuse, I knows it if you are.

The song CRAZY continues to play.

4EXT. STREET--DAY

Karl is walking down the street. He occasionally refers to the writing on his hand.

While he walks he enjoys the day and his life.

Every once in a while he jumps into a Karate stance or moves and shows he's ready for anything. Then he goes back to walking as if nothing happened.

5EXT. PLAYGROUND--DAY (6TH W. 500 N.)

Near a playground, a basketball bounces at his feet.

Karl picks it up, then looks at the kids looking at him. They are all amazed by what they see.

KID I

Over here mister.

(Beat)

Nice tights, Dude.

KARL

(not realizing he's being mocked)

Thanks.

Karl takes a hook shot from very far away. It goes into the garbage can.

5EXT. CHICAGO STREET--DAY

He continues to walk and comes to a Lady on her Porch.

LADY

Here Tincy. Here Tincy.

(beat)

Tincy where are you?

KARL

Lost your puppy? Perhaps I can help.

A huge dog comes running around a corner.

LADY

That's my Tincy.

Karl looks at the dog and is a little afraid.

KARL

Looks like my job is done here.

C.U. The dog growls and Karl is scared.

DOG'S P.O.V.

Low shot of the dog running towards Karl. Karl comes to a fence and leaps over it--he doesn't make it all the way. His feet hit the fence and he falls out of sight.
